For clarity here is the September info:
Out-Post Hash
Saturday
19 September 2009
The Sorrento connection to KH3 will be hosting an out-post hash on the above date, with the run to take place in the Sorrento area. Note that an “out-post” hash does not necessary replace a regular monthly hash, but, it can, as there are really no rules.
Hares: Nothing, Sabine, and Nika
The idea on the Sorrento run is to combine the hash run with an overnight camping trip for those who have campers. If you don’t have a camper and can’t bunk in with someone who has, then contact Sabine or Nothing at the numbers below…we should be able to find you a bed somewhere.
The run itself will happen at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, followed by a circle at a local micro brewery and then a pig roast at Sabine’s house. There will be a slightly higher cost for the pig as opposed the normal bbq meals and this will be advised in due course….the more people coming, the cheaper the cost. (At this point, we figure about $10.00 per head which will include salads, bread, and whatnot.) You can also buy a keg of beer from the micro brewery (about $15.00) to lubricate yourself at the pig feast. Notwithstanding, there will be other refreshments available anyway in case you are particular about your brand of beer or wine.
For those bringing campers, you will be parked along a right-of-way road on Sabine’s property…a very short walk from the pig roast so you can easily get back to your campers. While there is lots of room for many campers, there are no hook ups so you must be self-contained. You are more than welcome to come a day earlier (and maybe even bring your boat) and stay later if you wish. Directions to Nothing’s house are attached…follow the directions to Nothing and the road you will camp on is adjacent to his place. (someone will be around to meet you and help you locate). If you have extra space not taken up in your camper, let Sabine or Nothing know and we may be able to bed down another non-camper owner guest or two.
If you come early or stay late, just to let you know, there is access to the lake close by and a boat ramp. Also, if you are bringing your camper, it would be good for you to call Sabine or Nothing in advance so we have an idea of how many rigs we’ll have to park.

Directions from the West
Drive from Kamloops towards Salmon Arm. Go past Chase, and about 20 Km further, you will see the speed sign saying slow to 70 Km as you enter Sorrento. Go very slow at this point and watch for a Petro Canada station ahead on the left side of the road.
Just before you get to the Petro Canada station, you will see a road on your right going up the hill. This is Notch Hill Road. There will be a small strip mall on your left after you turn off the Trans Canada Highway up this road.
Follow Notch Hill road up and about 1 Km up you will see a road on your left called MacKenzie road. Do not make this turn but rather, continue to follow along on Notch Hill road and a bit further, it will take a sharp turn to the left. At this point, you will see a small electrical sub-station on your left. About 3 blocks past this turn in the road, you will see another sign for MacKenzie Road, up a short hill to your left.
Take this turn for MacKenzie and follow up for a couple hundred metres to the top and then you will see Kyte Road on your right. Turn onto Kyte and at this point, you will see a tree farm nursery on your left. (MacKenzie actually loops and joins Notch Hill road in two places but the first turn is very sharp and there are some twisty sections at the beginning so the second entrance is better and quicker)
About a ½ Km up Kyte, you will see Ewart Road (this is now a dirt road) going down on your left. Turn down Ewart and when you get to the bottom the road makes a 90 degree turn to the right. Follow on to the very end (about 9 houses down) and you will then be at our place; we are in the mobile home on the left at the end of the road. The true address is 1617 Ewart Road.
Local tel number is 250-833-2744, and actual street address is 1617 Ewart Road.
