Dear Betty

I hope you had a good holiday season and that this email finds you in good
health. Well once again it is time for Relay For Life planning and
recruitment.

I hope you joining us again this year.

Here is some information for you

Relay for Life is Sat June 11, 2011
10am to 10pm
Riverside Park

Early bird registration is $10 per person until the end of January.

Some suggested changes for this year are to have 2 tracks a shorter one for
survivors and a longer one for those that want to keep track of their
kilometres walked. The committee will see if this is doable.

We are also thinking of posting a communication board at the front by
registration for all teams to list any fundraising activities they are doing

on site. like team mini silent auctions etc.

It has been suggested that we have a water tent , since it appears that the
youth that were delivering water last year missed a few people so the
suggestion is one central area.

Our entertainment sponsor will be working on booking more bands (ones that
will show up) so that there are not so many gaps also the sound system will
be reviewed so that people in the back can hear.(we hope)

We will place 3 bins of sand around the luminary track, we will ask all to
print clear the names of their luminary forms.

We are hoping to have posted parking signs so that no one parks in the
impark lot (they do not give us any free spots).
parking committee is going to increase parking training with the volunteers
since we ended up with several empty spots in our main lot.

As the committee comes together I hope to hear more suggestions, re food,
activities, etc. So please feel free to add any suggestions you have. If you

are interested in joining the planning committee in any capacity please let
me know.

If you would like me to send out registration forms and donation forms
please let me know and we will do so immediately. You can also register on
line at www.cancer.ca/relay

Greetings all you overstuffed Hashers. Time to get off the couch and into the elements and show your true north spirit. P-ON-ON has been busy finding the easiest track for all those who have been tied to the couch. Eager Beaver may be joining her as Co Hare. The after hash will be at a restaurant. The restaurant will accommodate us with a good meal if we can tell them we have a minimum of 12 to stay after the run for dinner. The restaurant will have to ask personell to accommodate us so what we need is a committment from 10 Hashers who will say they are coming and actually show up. The start of the run will be Sunday, January 16th as advertised 14:00 (2p.m. PIT BULL) so by the time all the RA has had his way with us it should be close to the time to put on the feed bag. The run will be in town starting at the parking lot of Mt Paul golf course 615 Mt Paul Way. Please respond to jeanandbrian@telus.net if you want to join P-ON-ON and CHOO CHOO for dinner PLUS OTHERS. If we do not get enough then we will probably find another location and announce it at the run. So as soon as you know that you would like to have dinner at Mt Paul Restaurant then let us know.

Hash Update

Greetings & Happy New Year Hashers,

I hope you had a wonderful Holiday Season full of beer, joy, beer, family and more beer...or some such refreshment!!!

It's almost time to (sort of) work off those holiday cookies through the first Kamloops Hash of 2011.

Run 49 of the Kamloops Hash is to take place on Sunday the 16th of January at Mt. Paul Golf Course.  Your Hares are P-On-On and Eager Beaver.  They will be filing details shortly I'm sure, expected start time is 2pm.

Check the Hareline for details, www.khhh.javachat.biz

Free & Easy and Loggerhead are hoping to set the February run (thanks you two), and Eager Beaver & No Name Geoff will be setting the April run in Sun Rivers.  We're still looking for a Hare or two to set the run in March - volunteers???

Oh yes, your latest run data is also on the website, along with the pics from the last run - check Hash Flash.  The Hash Trash is below.

Cheers, and see you next week,

Topsy.

Run #48 – Sahali Santa Hat Run
Sunday December 12th 2010
Hares:  Choo Choo & Nose Hare

So, on a fine looking Saturday, Nose Hare and Choo Choo headed out into the hills of Lower Sahali to seek out a worthy trail for the Kamloops Hash.  With sugar plums dancing in their heads and looking forward to a pleasant stroll, they came across two deer - could these be the missing deer from Santa's sleigh!?!  Meanwhile, back in cyberspace, the RA decides this should be a Santa Hat Run (yet forgot to wear one). It must be divine karma to see these two deer laying in the bank, a truly festive event (never underestimate the power of the RA!! - Topsy).

The next day was run day, the deer had moved on and the hills were covered in 15 cm of snow.  In their place, sixteen hashers were ready to roll. Virgins Mike and Paul were game for a new adventure.  On ward Free and Easy down a slippery slope and up the slippery hill.  On ward grunted White Trash and Bad Gas.  On ward moaned No Names Naomi and Geoff.  On ward Quick n' Qweemie panted with No Name Niki.  To the "loops" cried Eager Beaver - and many a loop there were.  Back to the kennel cried Midstream.  All Terrain Shoes cutting through the snow & ice, a festively decorated (if a bit…ahm Rider green!! – RA), Corporal Punishment was watching the clock - for many a gift is needed, so a dollar must be made.  Meanwhile Pitbull was checking the trail for tracks and he was the FRB of the day for the long trail, though he didn't leave any "deposits" this run.

It was a chilly afternoon, so hashers were rounded up and the Circle commenced on the back deck…with many a hasher huddling and sucking back a cold lager or two for warmth!!!  Special thanks to Corporal Punishment for taking on Assistant Beermaster duties for the day, keeping the Circle moving a steady pace.

The Down Downs:

Choo Choo & Nose Hare – The Hares

Eager Beaver, Cpl. Punishment, P-On-On,
No Name Mike, White Trash, Bad Gas, Pitbull – SCB’s the lot of them!!!

Bad Gas – Hitting Run #20 today

Choo Choo & Nose Hare – Having the Pack run multiple circles on the Trail

Pitbull – Littering on the Run

Bad Gas, Naomi, Midstream, Fred – Returnees

Midstream – The Hash Flash forgets her camera

Free & Easy, White Trash & Midstream – Using “Non-Hash” Names in the Circle

No Name Fred – Too Polite…& giving a long thank-you speech to a cold Circle J

After much to do, and many a Down Down, Topsy called the Circle to heel.  Soon the whole hash was munching on delicious Chicken Chilli and buns courtesy of P-On-On.  Kiss Hash and Loggerhead joined the group just for the fixins, under the watch full eye of Fred who guarded the beer.   A great time had by all, thanks to Choo Choo & Nose Hare for stepping into the breech and setting this run on short notice.

Next run on Sunday January 16th – check the Receding Hareline for updated details.

On On – Choo Choo & Topsy.
